The Blue Mountains are located in the eastern part of the island of Jamaica. They are named because the mountains are surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Whenever the weather is clear, the sun shines directly on the blue sea, and the peaks reflect the bright blue light of the sea. . The fragrance and sweetness of the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, which tastes as mellow as wine, has always been the favorite of Japanese coffee enthusiasts. Its rare production is a representative of specialty coffee. But not all coffee produced in Jamaica can bear the Blue Mountain logo. In 1953, in order to promote the improvement of the quality of Jamaican coffee, the Jamaican government established the Coffee Board (CIB). Jamaica was the first country to register coffee production regions as trademarks. Exports from Jamaica must be certified by the Coffee Board (CIB). Only coffee produced in specific administrative areas and at a certain altitude in the Blue Mountains can obtain Blue Mountain certification. Since 1790 (mid-eighteenth century), Clifton Mount Estate has been planting Blue Mountain coffee, all of which are Typica varieties. It is the highest and oldest coffee estate in the entire Blue Mountains, and also the local coffee estate. The only single-estate Blue Mountain coffee with Rainforest Alliance certification. Sufficient altitude, mild afternoon cloud-shrouded mountain forest shade, sufficient sunshine and mineral-rich planting soil provide good growing conditions for coffee trees.
